Water Efficient Appliances Usage (e.g. hand washing taps, toilet flush, etc.)

Maejo University applies comprehensive building standards and operational policies to minimize water use, in alignment with the Thailand Waterworks Act B.E. 2531, Building Control Act B.E. 2522, and the MJU Green University Policy. The university enforces a Water-Saving Policy requiring all units to replace damaged fixtures with water-efficient devices, including low-flow taps, automatic faucets, waterless urinals, automatic urinals, and low-flush toilets. New and renovated buildings must comply with these standards, achieving a 25–30% reduction in total water consumption. Additional measures—such as rainwater harvesting systems, drought-resistant landscaping, and leak detection sensors—further enhance conservation. This integrated approach demonstrates Maejo University’s proactive leadership in sustainable water governance and green infrastructure, reinforcing its measurable contributions to SDG 6 (Clean Water) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption) while setting a model for environmentally responsible campus design.
